Sarah and Jon grew up in the same neighborhood and were best friends. It wasn’t until they were in their early 20’s Jon started to have feelings for Sarah and decided to tell Sarah how he felt. Sarah felt the same way and now here we are!! Their super romantic love story feels like a Nicolas Sparks movie. In August 2018, Sarah and Jon had an Elegant Summer Water’s Edge Wedding. Their wedding day was super hot and the perfect day for a wedding. It had rained the previous 3 weeks and we were all ready for sunshine! The day began with Sarah and her bridesmaids getting ready in her childhood home. Jon and his groomsmen were at his home he and Sarah purchased about 2 months prior. As soon as I came in, Becky, Sarah’s sister showed me around and pointed me to where all of Sarah’s details were waiting to be photographed. The room was perfect for detail photos and getting ready portraits. There was no furniture, lots of large windows, and the perfect shade of blue on the walls. Seriously a dream room!
While we were waiting for Sarah her Dad and I got to talking in front of their home. He told me how hurricane Isabel destroyed their home in 2003 and took everything. They rebuilt to the gorgeous home you see behind them. This made having their first look and getting ready in her home that much more special. Sarah’s Dad teared up right away when he turned around to see her. It was the sweetest thing! Her Dad wanted to have a first look with Sarah’s mom as well. I never had that request before! I thought it was the sweetest thing and all his idea! How precious are they!? We headed to the church were they had a beautiful ceremony and a fun bubble exit!! We took a few portraits of Sarah and Jon at the church and headed to Water’s Edge Events Center.
The inside of the reception room was incredible. They decorated with gorgeous table settings! There was plenty of seating for the guests as well as a large dance floor. Speaking of dancing, everyone at this wedding could dance!! It was incredible. The parents and bridal party came out with really creative and fun dances and of course Sarah and Jon came out dancing and went straight into their first dance as husband and wife. They were so excited for their reception to begin to show off those incredible dancing skills! During the toasts, it was mentioned several times how Sarah and Jon are the sweetest couple. Everyone who meets them loves them and it’s so true! They are incredible people. I am so honored to have photographed their wedding day and gotten to know them and their story better through their wedding day.
