Tropic Like It's Hot

August 30, 2018

With the warm weather coming to an end, we wanted to highlight all summer has to offer with a fun, bright, and playful surprise bridesmaids brunch. This tropical shoot is the perfect backdrop for any bride to “trop” the question of “Will you be my bridesmaid?” to her girl gang.

The task of asking your best friends to stand by your side is reason enough to celebrate, so why not make a day of it with pineapples, palm leaves, surprise gifts, and tons of bubbly!

We had our bride welcome her soon to be bridesmaids with unique, personalized gift boxes that asked the question for her as they entered the waterfront venue. Each girl fawned over her new position in the bride squad and shared her bridesmaids box with her fellow bridesmaids. The girls then celebrated with a tropical brunch poolside, with plenty of champagne to go around.

Inspired by all things trendy, tropical, and feminine, we started with a bright color scheme of hot pink, blush, emerald green, and gold with wooden accents as the foundation for this fun shoot. Tropic floral were the main focal point for the tablescape and peacock chair with big palm leaves, gorgeous protea, and plenty of bold blooms. A fun palm leaf print can be found throughout the shoot including a fun bar cart sign stating “Warning: this bubbly will make your tropic like it's hot”, stationery, apparel, napkins, and even the wine glasses! Pineapples are all the trend right now, and were the perfect accessory for the tablescape and bar cart.

One of our favorite pieces from the shoot is the place setting. We used a woven charger lined with hot pink wooden bon bons, clear plates, a palm leaf print napkin, gold flatware, and a gold “reserved” napkin ring to top it off!

Our models were dressed to the nines in the color scheme. Going the nontraditional route, we had our bride dresses in a hunter green maxi, while her maids were in the pastel neutrals of white, blush, and champagne. Loose beachy waves for our models was a must, and a pop of pink lip topped off the look.
