I am a born and raised Annapolitain so when i envisioned my wedding i always knew i wanted to incorporate the beauty of our waterways additionally Laird and I love hiking and being in the woods. So when it came to finding a venue we looked no further than Harwood Hills Farm with its labyrinth of twisting paths to different clearings in the woods. To incorporate the river, we decided to have our rehearsal dinner on the Lady Sara and take our guest on a ride down our beloved Severn. As for the big day, I could not have asked for a more perfect representation of my elegant woodland vision. The day was cloudy, it rained on and off giving the even a misty soft feel. When guests arrived they were given a glass of campaign and ushered down a forest path to a clearing in the woods where the ceremony took place beneath a teak wood arbor made by my soon to be father in law. The bridal party entered the clearing from another direction dressed in blush with flower crowns and overflowing bouquets. Under the arbor we read our handwritten vows and were married by my father in laws best friend. The guests then left the clearing from yet another path up to cocktail hour between two tobacco barns and the tented reception where farm tables dripped with mismatched flowers and candles galore! There we were surprised by my father who sang instead of gave a speech and then we danced the night away. It was just magical!
